Sold: a secondhand sheer dress that's credited with catching the eye of Prince Charming - the price tag: $125,871.
That's the amount one collector paid for a black and turquoise knitted silk tube dress Kate Middleton wore during a 2002 charity fashion show at St. Andrew's University, as Prince William sat in the audience.
The see-through dress, which was actually designed as a skirt by a fellow student, went up for auction yesterday (March 17) in London.
A representative for the buyer of the royal piece said this when talking to the press, "He thinks it's an iconic piece. He's very happy."
